Microneedling
A collagen-stimulating treatment that improves skin texture, firmness, and tone by activating the skin’s natural healing response.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a clinically proven skin regeneration treatment. It uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-channels activate the skin’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin production and improving overall skin structure and function.
Ideal for:
Uneven skin texture
Enlarged pores
Fine lines and early wrinkles
Acne scarring
Pigmentation irregularities
Loss of firmness
Dull or tired-looking skin
Why consider Microneedling?
From your mid-20s, collagen production slows by around 1% each year. Over time, this leads to thinner skin, loss of firmness, enlarged pores, fine lines, and uneven texture.
Microneedling works by directly signalling your skin to produce new collagen, helping slow visible ageing and improve overall skin quality at a deeper level than topical skincare alone.
Stimulates natural collagen production
Encourages skin renewal from within, improving strength and resilience.
Reaches deeper than skincare
Targets the layers of skin where true regeneration occurs.
Refines texture and pores
Creates smoother skin with more refined pores.
Softens fine lines and firms skin
Improves elasticity for a fresher, more youthful appearance.
Clinically proven results
Effectively treats acne scarring, textural irregularities, pigmentation, and early signs of ageing.
Supports long-term skin health
Forms the foundation of healthy skin and enhances the results of other aesthetic treatments.
What does the treatment look like?
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared before treatment begins. A medical-grade microneedling device is then used to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, with treatment depth adjusted for different areas of the face. Active serums may be applied during the procedure to enhance results. The sensation is commonly described as pressure or vibration, with mild scratching or warmth. A topical numbing cream can be applied if you choose, although many clients find the treatment manageable without it.
Treatment time is typically 30–60 minutes. Microneedling is usually performed as a course of 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, which has been shown to significantly increase collagen production.
Immediately after treatment, the skin will appear red or flushed, similar to moderate sunburn, and may feel warm, tight, or slightly swollen. This response is expected and indicates that the skin’s natural repair process has been activated. Over the following 24–72 hours, redness gradually settles. Skin may feel dry or tight, with mild flaking possible. Makeup is usually avoided for the first 24 hours, after which the skin often appears brighter, smoother, and more refreshed.
